Windsor Star – Alarm Expressed Over U.S. Plan to Take DNA Samples From Those Detained at Border
MP Brian Masse says he is alarmed that people in Windsor may be “criminalized” by a new U.S. move to start taking DNA samples from all non-citizens detained at the border. In an email to the Star on Thursday, CBP public affairs spokesman Matthew Dyman said “the approximate start date for the collection of DNA samples at the ports of entry in the Detroit area is November 30th.” He said the new policy does not apply to people who are lawfully in the U.S. or are being processed for lawful admission to the country.
