Ils ont également souligné l’importance d’aller à la rencontre des immigrants avec la volonté de les intégrer à la francophonie locale plutôt que d’attendre qu’ils viennent d’eux-mêmes, puisqu’ils ont déjà tant à comprendre de leur nouveau lieu d’accueil.

Devant l’importante pénurie de personnel dans le réseau, le ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux a reçu le mandat de recruter plus de 4000 travailleurs de la santé à l’étranger, surtout des infirmières. Du jamais-vu. On peut donc bel et bien parler d’une explosion de la demande de main-d’œuvre. En 2019-2020, les établissements québécois n’avaient donné que 330 mandats à Recrutement Santé Québec, puis 1700 en 2020-2021.
