Toronto Star – Opposition Parties Force Parliamentary Probe into Canada’s Evacuation from Afghanistan
Opposition parties have forced the creation of a special all-party parliamentary committee to probe the Canadian government’s response to the crisis in Afghanistan, which erupted just as the Liberals launched last summer’s election campaign. Although the Liberals had argued that creating the special committee was unnecessary, Liberal MP Marcus Powlowski voted with the opposition parties in favour of creating it.
