Home is not just a place, it’s a feeling, according to photographer Bruno Belli of London, Ont. And that’s the message he wants to showcase in his photography exhibit at London’s multicultural festival on Sunday. In his project titled Home, Belli captured six families in London who had recently immigrated to Canada by asking them which public spaces within the city they felt most at home, and allowed them to write a quote of their choice in their native languages.

A British judge has rejected a bid to ground a flight due to take more than 30 asylum-seekers on a one-way journey to Rwanda next week, but gave the migrants permission for a last-minute appeal. Judge Jonathan Swift refused a request from a group of the asylum-seekers for an injunction that would ground the flight planned for Tuesday. But he said an appeal could be heard on Monday, and a full legal challenge to the British government’s new Rwanda deportation policy is to be held before the end of July.

On Tuesday, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada announced the change to the “super visa” program, which previously only permitted stays of up to two years. Super visa holders now can stay in Canada for up to five years per entry, with the option of requesting a two-year extension. The new change comes into effect on July 4. The super visa program was started in 2011 to allow parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents to visit the country for extended periods of time.
