La hausse des plaintes en déontologie policière traitant de racisme ou de profilage racial s’est poursuivie en 2021, et celles qui sont liées à des interceptions routières ont presque doublé depuis 2019, selon des informations obtenues par Le Devoir. Ces interventions demeurent l’angle mort de la lutte contre le profilage racial, selon un récent jugement invalidant les interceptions routières sans motif. De plus, aucune somme n’a encore été allouée par le ministère de la Sécurité publique pour que le Commissaire à la déontologie policière mette sur pied un programme de prévention.

Présentée pour la première fois à Mississauga, en clôture de la Semaine nationale de l’immigration francophone, GuideMoi a été conçue pour les immigrants francophones de l’Ontario. Financée par le ministère Immigration, Réfugiés et Citoyenneté Canada (IRCC), GuideMoi a pour objectif de tisser les bons liens au bon moment et dans la durée entre l’immigrant francophone et les services qui ont été mis en place pour lui.
