Leader-Post – Waiting Game Continues for Sask. Immigrants

Awaiting answers are members of the Coalition for a Fair SINP (Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program), who last spoke with provincial Immigration Minister Bill Boyd nearly six weeks ago. That meeting explored possible concessions to the new rules affecting the family category of the immigrant nominee program, which now limits the number of relatives newcomers can sponsor and requires applicants to prove they have secured employment in a high-skills sector before moving here. […] During an event held in Victoria Park on Saturday, members of the Coalition for a Fair SINP reminded the crowd of nearly 200 people affected by the changes that the group is still waiting for a response from Boyd.
