C’est l’employeur qui avait déposé la requête pour faire révoquer le syndicat, en leur nom.

Internal data prepared by the Immigration Department for a committee of deputy ministers suggests a majority of Canadians supports current immigration levels, but this support drops when Canadians are informed of how many immigrants actually arrive every year. “Public support (often aided by a diversity of prominent stakeholders) is indispensable,” the department told the co-ordinating committee of deputy ministers during a meeting in April 2017 to discuss immigrant outcomes. “But there could be a tipping point that, once reached, undermines the history of relative Canadian consensus.”

Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan has ordered a crackdown on the growing number of racist and misogynist comments on the Canadian Forces’ official Facebook page. Though the Forces have a team of dedicated social media staffers, the comments have become so toxic at times that one member of the public observed the “comment section around here reads like a Sons of Odin chat room,” a reference to a far-right, anti-immigration group.
The Federal Court on Thursday denied Lucy Francineth Granados a stay of removal, and the undocumented resident of Montreal may be deported to Guatemala on Friday morning, said Solidarité sans frontières (Solidarity Across Borders). The Federal Court refused to suspend the deportation of the single mother of three, who has been living in Montreal for nine years. The stay was sought pending a decision on an application for permanent residence for humanitarian reasons.
