CBC News has obtained copies of four current lawsuits against Ripudaman Dhillon, PC candidate in Brampton North, and his Mississauga-based company, ICC Canada Immigration Solutions. The allegations in the documents include that Dhillon and his firm “unjustly” took money from the clients and misrepresented the immigration services they would provide. Aside from the four lawsuits, CBC News has interviewed three other Dhillon clients who make similar allegations.

La marine tunisienne a repris ses recherches lundi au large de la région de Sfax (sud) dans l’espoir de retrouver d’éventuels survivants, ou de nouveaux corps, au lendemain de la mort d’au moins 48 migrants dans le naufrage de leur embarcation. Tandis que 48 cadavres ont été repêchés dimanche, 68 migrants ont pu être secourus, selon un bilan encore provisoire des autorités tunisiennes.

A letter sent by a Canadian immigration officer to a couple questioning the legitimacy of their marriage includes language that Federal NDP immigration critic Jenny Kwan says is “offensive and insulting.” The letter, from a Canadian immigration officer based in London, England, to a female applicant from Pakistan, says her permanent residency application appears suspect for a number of reasons — including that she is three years older than her husband, a Canadian citizen who has lived in Canada since 2005.
CBC News – More Venezuelans Denied Entry to Canada as Country’s Political, Economic Crisis Deepens
A Gatineau, Que. doctor says Venezuelans caught in a deepening political and economic crisis at home are being unfairly being denied travel visas to Canada. Gabriela Prada said she hoped her sister and mother could visit to attend her daughter’s graduation, but their visa applications were turned down. A letter explaining the rationale for her sister’s refusal cited family ties to Canada and turmoil in her home country. Prada said that decision is inappropriate and runs counter to Canada’s foreign policy position that condemns the escalating humanitarian crisis in Venezuela.
Global News – Irregular Border Crossings Drop, While Romanian Asylum Claims Soar
For the first time since January, the number of people crossing the Canada-U.S. border between legal checkpoints seems to be falling, according to the latest government numbers. The final tally for May is not expected to be made available for another week or more, but if the average number of daily crossings holds, it will represent a notable shift in activity at the border. As of Dec. 1, 2017, citizens of Romania and Bulgaria no longer need a visa to travel to Canada for short stays of up to six months.
